Congregation of the Uniting Presbyterian Church in Southern Africa (UPCSA)
Our Minister is Andries Combrink.
Andries received his B.Th in 1976 and his M.Th in 1977 from the University of Stellenbosch. Since 1978 he ministered to congregations at Langebaanweg, Middelburg (Mpumalanga) and Midrand. He was also the Director of the Institute for the Blind in Worcester for 4 years.
He was the minister of the original CPK since it was planted in Centurion during May 2000. He also became the Minister of the Gateway Family Church (Presbyterian) in a combined ministry with the CPK, during January 2004. On 1 December 2004 he was appointed the first Minister of the united Centurion West Presbyterian Church, after the unification of the CPK and Gateway.
Andries has a great passion to reach the unchurched. Another passion is the importance of life changing preaching and teaching of God's Word and the administering of the Sacraments in a way that creates real meaning and fellowship with Christ. He is constantly translating various orders for Communion into Afrikaans to find the language and order that will touch the lives of people - and truthfully but relevantly speak to people living in a post modern world.
Andries sees himself first of all as being called by Christ to the pastoral ministry and to serve the Church of Christ in this denomination. He also sees himself as a reformed theologian.
Andries is married to Marthie - working as a true partner at his side in both the work of the Church and in her own business life. Marthie is amongst others a gospel singer in her own right.
