About CPC
The CENTURION WEST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH (CPC) is a Bible based church, focusing on the needs of the whole family and of all generations. The Sunday School and Teens’ Church go out of their way to reach children in a meaningful way. It is a congregation of the Uniting Presbyterian Church in Southern Africa (UPCSA).
Every visitor is swiftly made to feel at home and both adults and children soon make new friends. Our minister is available to informally discuss membership with every visitor to our Sunday services, if they so request..
CPC Mission
We are a Bible based, family friendly, present-day church, called to spread the good news about Jesus Christ and reach out with God’s mercy to all peoples and language groups in our city, our country and to the ends of the earth, by reaching up to God, reaching in to our own faith community and reaching out to others in need. Diversity is our strategy and the youth is our future!
What we are about
We are committed to sincerely enjoy and respect our diverse expressions of ourselves and of our one true faith, whilst being bound in unity as a result of our common doctrine, our Christian love for one another and our passion to obey our commission as followers of Christ, to reach everyone with love and righteousness, through the Word of God and through lives filled with compassion. We do this first and foremost as followers of our Lord, Jesus Christ, but also as the Presbyterian Church called to serve in this part of our city. (For our teachings, please see “We Believe”.)
Younger families and young adults will feel at home in the relaxed atmosphere of the services and within the informal, warm relations amongst members. Older members appreciate the sense of family and support that is important to this faith community.
We provide a church to any family who does not currently participate in any congregation’s services or other activities. We strive to be a modern church with an informal approach that is experienced as warm, relevant and people-orientated. Most new members feel that they belong after only a few visits. We incorporate the best from both traditional and present-day styles of worship into our Sunday Service and approach to ministry. (Read more at Sunday Service).
Through life changing preaching of the Word of God, meaningful celebration of the sacraments,through prayer based on the sharing of both good and difficult times with one another and other activities, we believe the Lord will reach all in dire need of God who visit with us.
Where we are
We are situated in the west side of Centurion in Raslouw, close to the Mall, Reds shopping centre and near both Rooihuiskraal Road and Ruimte Road. It is the closest Presbyterian Church for people who live in Wierda Park, Wierda-Glen, Eldoraigne, Amberfield, Rooihuiskraal, The Reeds, Raslouw, Heuweloord and adjacent areas.
